counseling + workshops
$100 / 1 hour in-home counseling session
A life event like pregnancy often brings up extreme emotions or unresolved issues concerning our own parents and childhoods.
I utilize Internal Family Systems, or "parts work." in therapeutic services to explore how these past events or relationships cause current emotions. Part of the therapeutic process is unburdening
yourself of past beliefs holding you back from becoming the parent you
want to be.
The number one complication of childbirth is maternal mental health issues. I am trained to assess and refer appropriately to get you the help you deserve.
I have experience in the following areas: mood and anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, perinatal mood and psychotic disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, reproductive and birth trauma, Obesessive-Compulsive Disorder, crisis counseling, suicidality, working with low-income/homeless populations, as well as teen mothers and single mothers.
$150 / 90 minute in-home couples counseling session
If there are issues you want to resolve before becoming parents, couples counseling can help you learn communication skills and become comfortable with respectful conflict. A baby's brain development is impacted by an environment with anger. Together, you can become a stronger family in preparation for your new baby.
I incorporate elements of the Gottman Method, therapy based on research predicting relationships that will last.
Our goals are to:
expecting and new parents workshop
$300 / 3 hour in-home couples workshop
$750 with 3 couples
This Gottman-based workshop prepares parents for starting the journey of birth and raising children. We will focus on the dynamics of a couple to strengthen the relationship, lending a greater power to the bond of love, imparting an optimal outcome for your growing family. Findings from the current research suggest
that early post-workshop changes are associated with later positive outcomes.
